False(b)logic

On Starting Again

I keep a to-do list.

A lot of people do. The list has gone through a number of iterations: apps, sticky notes, pocketbook, back to apps. The current version is in Google Keep, along with a number of other lists and reference documents. I know it isn't fancy, but it meets my two needs right now: access on mobile and sync across devices. I also appreciate how all my notes/lists can be on one screen.

But, this isn't a post about to-lists

It's about the first item of said to-do list 're-vamp falselogic.com.' It has been there for at least six months. The items below it consistently turn over as I go about the work of my life. Not that item. It sits there, shaming me.

The Problem

I kept a blog at falselogic.com. I hosted 100s, maybe 1000s of images there for various purposes. For awhile I wrote about exploring the world of cocktails, I did screenshot 'Let's Plays,' I reviewed every cheeseburger in my town... And, then I stopped. I didn't know what more to write about. Or what purpose having my own domain, or blog did for me anymore. This issue was compounded by the fact that Wordpress continually became more and more complicated and bloated to use. As did Web-hosting sites and services. There seemed to be no simple, easy way to maintain your own presence on the web.

A Solution?

Then I found Bear. Probably through HN, but I'm not sure about that. It was simple. It was easy. The backend was minimal. So, lets try this again. Slowly at first.
